Today we'll start the day by driving to the west of the island. The settlement of this area dates back to the Early Bronze Age. The growth and the development of the area owing to copper mine and citrus gardens. Our first stop will be in Kormacit village. This is the only Maronite village in N. Cyprus. The inhabitants of this village were Maronites. They came to the island during the Byzantine period as soldiers from Lebanon. They were the Christian Arabs. It’s a nice village with St. George Church in the centre. The houses in the village have been renovated and it has been one of the attractions for the tourists. We sit in a traditional coffee house and enjoy the Cypriot coffee while you hear the story of the place. Our next stop will be ‘St. Mamas Monastery’ in Guzelyurt.  The Kingdom of Soli was formed by Athenians and was destroyed by Arab raids in 7BC. We shall visit the site while you hear the history of this beautiful ancient city. Lefka is another small town that we shall visit on our tour today. There are monuments from Ottoman, Roman, Venetian, and British heritage which we'll see on the tour. The orange, walnut, and palm trees are all around Lefka.
