KYRENIA & NICOSIA TOUR

This tour is a combination of two cities of Kyrenia and Nicosia.  We’ll drive thru Kyrenia Mountains. The mountain range is 177 km long and starts from Kormacit and goes all the way to the Karpaz peninsula. Our first stop will be at ‘Bellapais Monastery’. We shall have a short walk on the beautiful narrow village roads, pass thru the house of ‘Lawrence Durell’ and we'll have time to take photos. We hop in the car and drive to the city center to visit 'Kyrenia Castle'. There are many rooms that we’ll visit while you get to learn about its history but the most important is the 'Ship Wreck ' museum. When the Cyprus Republic was established in 1960 the currency of the island was Cyprus pounds. The biggest banknote of 20CYP had a photo of this shipwreck on it. Which the shipwreck that was found is one of the oldest ones and dates back to 300BC.

Our next stop of the day will be the capital of the island NICOSIA.  ‘Ledra ‘was one of the names given to this city which is now also known as ‘Lefkosa’ or’ Lefkosia’.  ‘Kyrenia Gate’ is where we enter the old city which has been the capital since the 11th Century. The best way to visit the old part of the city is on foot. So we park our car and start to walk towards ‘Samanbahçe Houses’, ‘Venetian Column’ ‘Arasta’, ’Buyuk Han’, ‘St. Sophia Cathedral,’(Selimiye Mosque), ’St. Nicholas Church’, ‘Bandabuliya’ will be the last stop to take photos in Nicosia. If your time is limited in Cyprus this tour will be ideal for you so come and explore the two beautiful cities with me to make your day a memorable one….
